Stone & Concrete Cladding Supply in South Miami
Period-appropriate stone veneer supplied to South Miami — small-format and hand-laid faces for older bungalows under heavy tree canopy.
South Miami has older, smaller, more characterful housing stock than most of what Miami Stone Veneer Specialists supplies into, and it sits under serious tree canopy. Both facts change what we'd recommend.
Scale down the format
These are low, wide houses on generous lots. A 47-inch Sandblasted panel that looks superb on a Doral commercial elevation looks oversized on a South Miami bungalow — the pieces read as bigger than the architectural elements around them.
Small and irregular works far better. Rajuela at 8 11/16 inches lays up looking genuinely hand-set. Cantera's fine, even texture suits the era. Both sit comfortably against 1940s and 50s proportions.
Canopy, shade, and algae
The tree cover is the reason people live here and the reason north elevations grow green.
It's cosmetic, not structural — algae feeds on airborne organic dust, not on the stone. Clean it with a soft brush and a masonry-safe biocide, never bleach and never a pressure washer, which drives water behind the veneer. See how to clean manufactured stone.
The better fix is airflow. Trim planting back off the wall and keep irrigation pointed away from it. A wall that dries between rains barely grows anything.
Sealing matters more under canopy
Shaded walls stay damp longer. Use a breathable penetrating sealer at install and re-do it on the shorter end of the interval — six or seven years rather than ten. Never a film-forming sealer, which traps the moisture it's meant to keep out.

The Mediterranean look South Florida keeps coming back to. Long, low courses in warm limestone tones, with a radiused piece for columns and curved walls.
View details →Cantera
Cantera is the stone of colonial Mexico — and it reads beautifully in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. Three lengths, plus a sandblasted variant with real open pores.

What suits an older South Miami bungalow? +
Warm, small-format, hand-laid looking faces. Rajuela and the Cantera range read as period-appropriate. Large modern formats fight the scale of these houses, which are generally low, wide, and set under heavy tree canopy.
Does the tree canopy cause problems? +
It causes algae on shaded elevations, which is cosmetic and cleans off with a soft brush and a masonry-safe biocide. Never a pressure washer. Trim back planting so air can move across the wall and the problem largely goes away.
